the meadows was once a loch

"burgh loch", it was called

earlier it had no name

it was just a pool of water

formed by raindrops falling from the sky

 

when the city was still a small town

the water running from the loch

flowed into every household

to be drank

 

it was not a long time ago

the loch began to drain from east to west

drainage was built to stop it from draining out but in vain

there was not a drop left eventually

marshy land was made into a green park

 

it still rains a lot in this city

water from the sky gently falls onto the land

however, the land might never return to a loch again

it stays on the ground

waiting for the next skyfall
